You know the seasons are changing when leaves begin to turn, and primary colors become more prominent. This is a great time to get back to nature, enjoy what’s left of summer, and plan fun activities with friends. Here are four places within a 60-minute drive from Cheraw, SC that offer fun fall activities you can drive to from there.

Go Apple Picking At Shaver’s Orchard

Head to this family-owned orchard for some apple-picking fun. After you’ve picked your fill, you can enjoy a freshly-pressed cider and delicious apple crisp. Located at 841 Cheraw-Rock Hill Road, this is a great place to take the kids, too, as they can play in the hay bale maze, pet baby goats, and feed the ducks in the pond.

Make sure to take a little time to explore the nature trails and shop for apple-related gifts, such as apple cider, apple butter, apple jam, and more.

Go on a Hayride at Rock Hill Orchard

Kids of all ages will love the hayride at Rock Hill Orchard. You’ll learn about the history of the orchard, and the kids will get to feed the goats that live on the property.

After the hayride, you can enjoy delicious cider and doughnuts, along with a pick-your-own pumpkin patch. Rock Hill Orchard also has a fun playground, so this is a great place to visit as a family.

Visit the Harvest Festival at Falling Creek Farms

Falling Creek Farms hosts the annual Harvest Festival, which is the perfect place to get in the fall spirit. It is located at 6272 Cheraw-Horse Shoe Road, Cheraw. You can enjoy live bluegrass music, hayrides, pony rides, a corn maze, an antique tractor show, and more.

You can also pick-your-own apples, pumpkins, and other produce, and make sure to grab some cider and doughnuts to munch on while you’re there.

Umberger’s Farm: Hay Maze, Corn Maze, and Pumpkin Patch

For a fun fall day trip, head to Umberger’s Farm, which is located at 4134 US HWY 701, Cheraw. This farm is great for kids and families and offers a corn maze, hay maze, miniature golf course, and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

They also have a variety of animals on the farm, including goats, sheep, pigs, and chickens. After you’re done exploring the farm, enjoy some ice cream and a cider donut.

These are great places to visit as a family, so make sure to grab the little ones and head out for a day of fall fun! Remember to stop by Cheraw Chevrolet so we can find you a car to help you stay connected to nature.
