Sometimes pizza is just the only thing anyone wants to eat. If tonight is one of those nights, pack up the kids in your roomy Buick Enclave and head over to one of these places, where you’ll find the best pizza in the Cheraw, SC area.
Paisano’s Pizza
Just a short drive away at 416 West Blvd. in Chesterfield, Paisano’s offers pizza voted the best in Chesterfield County. They’ve also got fantastic pasta. This is genuine, Italian/New York-style pizza that you’re going to love. They are only open on Wednesday through Sunday, so be aware. Wednesday through Friday, they’re open for lunch from 11 AM to 2 PM, but not on Saturday. Their dinner hours are 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday and Thursday and 4 to 8 PM on Friday and Saturday.
What makes the pizza here so amazing is a combination of the handmade dough that goes through a 72-hour fermentation process and a stone baking oven that renders the pizza perfectly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The pastas are made from family recipes, the stromboli and calzone are incredible, and they make their own baked goods every day, including desserts like old-fashioned cannolis.
Leo’s of Cheraw
If you’re keeping it local and just want an excellent New York-style slice, or an entire pie, head over to Leo’s. You’ll find a spot at 155 2nd St., and they’re open from 11 AM until 8 PM every day except Sunday. This is not a fancy spot, and there is only so much on the menu, but the owner takes great pride in taking care of his customers, and the food is very carefully prepared.
Choose your basic whole pie or slice with cheese and then add whatever toppings you like. There’s pepperoni, ground beef, jalapeños, mushrooms, banana, peppers, bell peppers, tomatoes, and black olives. They also do an amazing calzone. If you have other people who aren’t feeling like pizza, this is a great spot to get wings, meatball parm, and chicken and waffles.
Simple Eats
Simple Eats is basically just what it sounds like, and this is a great place to grab a sandwich or a burger. However, they also do a daily pizza special, and you can’t go wrong with their pizzas. The special will get you one topping on a 12-inch pizza, and you can also order from their regular menu of 12 and 7-inch pizzas to get regular cheese, meat lovers, supreme, and a couple of other nice options. You’ll find them at 171 2nd St and open Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 8 PM and until 9 PM on Tuesdays.
